What Kola Code is

Kola Code is a mobile development environment: code, UI blocks, and guided learning on the phone you already own.

Kola Code is a mobile development environment. You write code on your phone, compose screens with UI blocks, and open the Learn tab when you want a guided path inside the same tool. It is built by Kolanut Technologies.

What is inside

  • Code. Read and write in languages you already speak, using African language packs (keyword maps and IDE gloss), across the stacks you use.
  • Design. Compose screens with UI blocks on the phone, including component libraries you already know.
  • Learn tab. A guided path so newcomers can build step by step without leaving the environment.
  • Offline-capable. Keep working when the network drops. That is support for real days, not the only reason the product exists.
  • Blocks before AI. Start from templates and blocks. AI assist is optional help, not a requirement to ship a screen.

Next to other phone tools

Phone editors and IDEs already exist. Acode and Spck are real ways to write software on Android without a laptop. Some other apps lead with courses and keep a thin editor on the side. Those are different products from a full mobile development environment.

Kola Code is built as that environment: native-language coding and on-device UI composition sit in the main product, not as add-ons. The design starts from African device and language realities. The tool is still for anyone who lives with the same limits.

For how that differs from Agent-first cloud tools like Replit, see Kola Code and Replit.

Who it is for

People who want to write and run code on a phone they already own. Students, indie builders, people in the diaspora, people whose laptop day is unreliable.

Language packs sit in the IDE so you can read and write code in a language you already speak. Kolanut publishes the shared pack data as kola-language-packs.
